The Artist Development Programme (ADP) was launched in April 2011 with 8 student artists.
The number of student artists increased to 34 – an increase of over 400% in just 3 years.
ADP student artists are given opportunities to be involved in public exhibitions where they gain exposure and experience in promoting their art.
ADP student artists had the rare opportunity to draw alongside renowned savant Stephen Wiltshire - UK architectural artist - when he visited Pathlight School.
Modelling values in action, Mr Wiltshire, known for his ability to draw cityscapes from memory, inspired Pathlighters with his personal journey of pursuing his talent.
Mr Wiltshire’s visit to Singapore to draw the Singapore skyline was commissioned by Singapore Press Holdings as a gift to Singapore for its 50th birthday.
Pathlight School held its inaugural public art exhibition featuring the works of its student artists from its award-winning Artist Development Programme (ADP) at The Fullerton Hotel.
It was officially opened by Ms Ho Ching, Executive Director & CEO of Temasek Holdings and Advisor to Pathlight School’s parent body, Autism Resource Centre (Singapore).
The exhibition which featured 58 pieces of artworks by 17 budding ADP student artists serves as a platform to showcase the diverse talents and unique perspectives of individuals with autism and ran for a month
ADP student artists, Aaron James Yap and Glenn Phua, raised funds for the community by donating their artworks.
Their art pieces were part of the Live Auction at a ball organised by Singapore Ireland Fund and were eventually sold for $8,000 & $7,000 respectively.
All funds raised from the ball were channelled to ARC’s Employability and Employment Centre E2C Village @ Redhill.
